Are you interested in discovering how BIO-SUSHY delivers Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) solutions for PFAS-free coating materials across food packaging, textiles and glass packaging?
From Tuesday, December 1st, to Wednesday, December 2nd, 2026, the BIO-SUSHY project is hosting its Final Event. This is an application-oriented gathering where the consortium presents its results, tools and demonstrations, with focus on interaction with participants and contributions from external experts. The event starts at Tuesday, December 1st, from 13:30 to 17:30 (CET) & Wednesday the 2nd December from 09:00 to 17:30. The programme emphasizes the scientific rationale, workflow logic and practical relevance of SSbD for PFAS-free coatings rather than generic methodological complexity.
Our Consortium will lead the sessions with the support of external speakers and cover the following topics:
- BIO-SUSHY main achievements in SSbD development of PFAS-free coatings
- Case-study achievements, KPIs and demos: food trays, textiles and glass packaging
- PFAS regulation status and challenges in PFAS replacement
- The BIO-SUSHY SSbD framework
- Sustainability assessment and SSbD-related scoring
- Rapid screening tools, QSAR modelling tools and physical modelling to support safety assessment and coating development
- Data hub and BIO-SUSHY data FAIRness
- Social acceptance and willingness-to-pay
- BIO-SUSHY contribution to standardization
- Market uptake and BIO-SUSHY exploitation routes
- Textile industry testimony on PFAS alternatives uptake
- Round table discussion
Who should attend
- Early-career researchers in materials science, chemical engineering, coating technology and toxicology
- Sustainability and environmental assessment professionals
- Industrial R&D specialists involved in product development and safer alternatives, particularly in food packaging, textiles and glass packaging
- Policymakers, regulators and standardization stakeholders interested in SSbD approaches
- Graduate students in environmental engineering, chemistry and materials science
- Project partners and external stakeholders following the BIO-SUSHY project
We look forward to see you at our Event
