BIO-SUSHY at the 21st Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing: ZSI Presents on Strengthening Value Chains through SSbD

The BIO-SUSHY project recently took part in the 21st Global Conference on Sustainable Manufacturing (GCSM) in Bologna from September 10 to 12. Our partner, the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI), shared our work and explained how it strengthens sustainable value chains across Europe.

ZSI, who leads Work Package 1 on project specification, alignment, and social acceptance within BIO-SUSHY, delivered an oral presentation titled “Strengthening value chains through SSbD: Insights from the BIO-SUSHY project.”

The presentation explained how the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework, central to the European Green Deal, can be used in practice. It demonstrated how the BIO-SUSHY project, which develops PFAS-free coatings for textiles and cosmetics, implements this framework.

Participation in the GCSM marks an important step in sharing the project’s results and fostering dialogue on the future of sustainable production. By aligning our efforts with the European Green Deal and the EU’s 2030 climate targets, we emphasize the strategic importance of our contributions. Sharing our project’s findings supports the transition to sustainable production and underlines our role in achieving Europe’s milestones for climate action and sustainable innovation.
