BIO-SUSHY Project at EU IndTech 2025 in Krakow

The BIO-SUSHY project participated in the prestigious EU IndTech 2025 conference held in Krakow, Poland, from June 2-4, 2025. This flagship event, organized under the patronage of the European Commission as part of Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, brought together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to discuss cutting-edge advancements in sustainable industrial technologies.

Our project coordinator, Dr. Mireille Poelman from MATERIA NOVA, and project partner Dr. Thomas Exner, Chief Scientific Officer at Seven Past Nine (7P9) and coordinator of the PINK project, represented BIO-SUSHY.

A Platform for Innovation

EU IndTech 2025, hosted at the Auditorium Maximum of Jagiellonian University, provided a platform for showcasing the innovative work of the BIO-SUSHY project. Our team hosted a dedicated booth, engaging attendees with our mission to develop eco-friendly, glass-like hybrid and biomaterials coatings to replace harmful per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS). Visitors had the opportunity to explore our safe-and-sustainable-by-design (SSbD) approach.

Networking and Collaboration

Dr. Poelman and Dr. Exner actively participated in B2B meetings and networking sessions. These interactions allowed meaningful connections with SMEs, startups, and industry stakeholders, paving the way for future collaborations. Dr. Exner also highlighted synergies between BIO-SUSHY and the PINK project, which focuses on digital tools for SSbD in advanced materials, emphasizing the role of FAIR data principles and open science in driving sustainable innovation.
