BIO-SUSHY at the European Coatings Show 2025
The BIO-SUSHY project made a significant impact at this year’s European Coatings Show (ECS) 2025, held in Nuremberg, Germany, on 25-27 March. As one of the most prestigious events in the coatings industry, ECS brought together nearly 25,000 visitors from diverse sectors, including automotive, construction, textiles, and packaging. Amidst this environment, BIO-SUSHY showcased its work in developing PFAS-free alternatives during a dedicated session titled “PFAS Alternatives” with three presentations on:
- PFAS-Free Thermoplastic-Based Powders for Food Packaging (Wood K plus)
- Sol-Gel Technology for PFAS-Free Textile Applications (Applus+ Rescoll)
- Hydrophobic and Oleophobic Coatings for Glass Packaging (Materia Nova)
Hosted in Room Shanghai, the session attracted around 50 attendees, including industry experts, researchers, and potential collaborators, all eager to learn about the latest advancements in environmentally friendly coatings and materials.
Beyond the presentations, BIO-SUSHY invited ECS attendees to visit Booth 400 in Hall 2, hosted by our partner SiKEMIA. Here, visitors had the opportunity to engage directly with project partners.
Our booth served as a hub for meaningful conversations about the future of PFAS-free coatings and how BIO-SUSHY is leading the charge toward a more sustainable world.
