The BIO-SUSHY project was recently featured in the Spanish digital magazine Digital Sevilla in an article entitled “Sustancias químicas seguras y sostenibles para un futuro mejor.” The coverage highlights the importance of moving to safer and more sustainable chemical solutions, especially as awareness of PFAS risks grows.
In addition to presenting BIO-SUSHY’s work on PFAS-free hydrophobic (repel water) and oleophobic (repel oil) coatings, the article emphasizes an important project initiative: a public survey to gather insights, perceptions, and expectations about sustainable coating technologies.
The survey is a crucial part of BIO-SUSHY’s Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approach. Scientific excellence and technological innovation are central, but societal acceptance and stakeholder perspectives are also important to ensure new materials are safe, high-performing, and aligned with public expectations.
Through this initiative, BIO-SUSHY aims to:
- Understand how citizens perceive chemical safety and sustainability,
- Assess awareness of PFAS-related concerns,
- Identify expectations regarding alternative coating technologies,
- Integrate societal feedback into future development pathways.
We invite our Spanish-speaking readers to participate in the survey and share their perspectives on sustainable coating technologies. You can find the survey here. Your input helps shape the future of PFAS-free innovation.
