BIO-SUSHY Partners ITENE and Wood K Plus to Host SSbD Training at SETAC Europe 2025 in Vienna

We proudly announce that project partners ITENE and Wood K Plus will lead a specialized training course on the EU Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) Framework during the SETAC Europe 35th Annual Meeting in Vienna. Scheduled for Sunday, 11 May 2025, this half-day session will equip professionals with actionable insights to align their work with the European Green Deal’s sustainability goals.

Training Course Overview

TC01: Safety and Sustainability Assessment in the Context of EU SSbD Framework 

Date: 11 May 2025 | Time: 8:30–12:30 CEST | Level: Introductory

This course bridges theory and practice, organized and aligned with two other EU-funded projects, SSbD4Chem and AlChemmiSStS. Attendees will explore:

• Implementation of the SSbD Framework through case studies across automotive, food packaging, and coatings sectors.
• Tools & Methods: Hands-on guidance on in silico approaches, New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), and software for risk and sustainability assessments.
• PFAS Alternatives: Strategies to replace restricted substances while safeguarding human and environmental health.

Professionals and researchers in:

• Materials science, toxicology, or computational chemistry.
• Regulatory bodies, product design, and risk assessment.
• Industries such as food packaging, paints, coatings, and textiles.
