BIO-SUSHY Project to Showcase PFAS-Free Innovations at the European Coating Show 2025
Next 25-27 March we are taking part in the European Coating Show (ECS) 2025 in Nuremberg, Germany . As one of the leading events for the coatings industry, ECS provides an ideal platform to present our PFAS-free bio-based coatings.
Four of our consortium partners will present on the innovations developed within the BIO-SUSHY framework, addressing the urgent need for safe and sustainable alternatives to PFAS across various industries. Below are the highlights of our contributions:
- Wood K Plus, Ecozema, and University of Leeds: Thermoplastic-Based Solutions for Food Packaging

- NCC OST – Room Shanghai
- Wood K Plus will present the project’s efforts in food packaging. In particular, we will talk about PFAS-free thermoplastic-based powders designed for paper-based substrates.

- Applus-Rescoll will present their work on sol-gel technology for textiles.

- Materia Nova: Hydrophobic and Oleophobic Coatings for Glass Packaging

- NCC OST – Room Shangai
- Materia Nova will showcase their development of PFAS-free coatings for cosmetic glass packaging, designed with SSbD principles in mind.

In addition to the technical presentations, SiKEMIA will host a booth in Hall 2, Booth 400 , where attendees can learn more about the BIO-SUSHY project and its contributions to the bioeconomy. Visitors are invited to engage with our team, explore our innovations, and discuss potential collaborations.
