BIO-SUSHY Training #3: Introduction to Automated Multiscale Physics-Based Modelling for Safe and Sustainable Coatings

The BIO-SUSHY project is pleased to announce its third online training workshop, entitled “Introduction to Automated Multiscale Physics-Based Modelling for Safe and Sustainable Coatings”, taking place on 16 June 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 (CEST) via Microsoft Teams.

Organised within the framework of the BIO-SUSHY project and moderated by AXIA Innovation GmbH, the training will be delivered by experts from the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) and will provide participants with an introduction to the role of automated multiscale physics-based modelling in the development and assessment of PFAS-free coating materials.

The workshop will explore how computational workflows can support the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approach by connecting chemistry, structure, and material functionality across multiple scales. Participants will gain insights into the logic of modular and reproducible simulation workflows, molecular modelling approaches, and the interpretation of modelling outputs relevant to coating performance, surface interactions, and leaching-related behaviour.

The training is designed for:

Early-career researchers, including PhD students and post-doctoral researchers

Computational chemists, materials scientists, physicists, and chemical engineers

Industrial R&D professionals working on sustainable coatings and predictive modelling

Academics interested in simulation methodologies and sustainable polymer development

The online workshop will include presentations, guided demonstrations, interactive discussions, and hands-on tutorial examples accessible through a browser-based environment.

To ensure a highly interactive learning experience and allow direct engagement with the trainers during the guided exercises and Q&A sessions, participation is limited to approximately 30 attendees.
